The Canal+ Group is a major
producer of premium special-interest TV channels in France
with Canal+ and Canal+ Le Bouquet, and a leader in the
pay-TV sector
with CanalSat.
It's also a trendsetter in new televisual
applications.
Through StudioCanal, The Canal+ Group is also
involved in the financing, acquisition and distribution of films in
France, as well as other countries in Europe.
The Canal+
Group has over 10.5 million subscriptions for all of its
offers.

Programs for every taste
Films, sports, information, comedy and drama series,
documentaries and more: Canal+ Le Bouquet offers exclusive, original
entertainment for all interests via six general Premium
channels.
The
Canal+ channel is the mainstay of the Canal+ Le Bouquet offering. It
offers special sports coverage and exclusive broadcasts of new
films, key cinema-industry events and hit series like
24 and Desperate
Housewives, as well as other high-quality shows
including Le Grand Journal and
Les Guignols de l’Info
. In
2007, it broadcast 452 movies - including 35 previously unaired
films every month - for its 5.3 million subscribers.
Canal+ Le Bouquet also features five other
channels: Canal+ Cinéma, Canal+ Sport, Canal+ Family, Canal+
Hi-Tech and Canal+ Décalé
. The premium
offering is rounded out by TPS Star.
The Canal+ Group also produces a range of some
20 special-interest channels dedicated to viewers’ favourite themes,
including film (CinéCinéma), sports
(Sport+, InfoSport),
news(i>Télé), documentaries (Planète
channels), entertainment (Comédie!),
lifestyle (Cuisine TV, Seasons), TV series
(Jimmy) and children’s programs (Piwi,
Télétoon<
/STRONG>
).

Le Bouquet is available via analogue and digital terrestrial
television, satellite, cable and ADSL
networks.

CanalSat: the leading multi-channel
offering in France
Since its merger with TPS at the beginning of
2007, CanalSat has added a range of new channels and original
themes. It now offers nearly 300 channels and services, including 55
satellite channels exclusive to CanalSat.
CanalSat is
available via satellite on ADSL and TNT in the form of a
"mini-package."
Another package specially designed for 3G
phones is also available via SFR
networks.

Mobile TV
The Canal+ Group has three television offers
for 3G mobile phone access:
• Canal+ Chaîne Mobile, Canal+’s
live free-to-air programs
• CanalSat Mobile, a line-up of
over 50 channels accessible live by SFR subscribers
• Canal+
Mobile, a selection of on-demand multimedia videos. With VOD, users
can view the most popular content of the premium channel Canal+
whenever and as often as they
like.

At the cutting edge of the new TV
era
The Canal+ Group continues to break new
ground in program broadcasting. CanalPlay, the legal-download online
VOD platform (www.canalplay.com
), offers a wide, varied range of
over 3,000 titles, including more than 1,500 recent
films.
Another new item in 2007: the www.canalplus.fr website,
where TV and the Internet converge.
The Canal+ Group also
launched Canal+ On Demand, a "catch-up" TV service that allows
subscribers to view their favourite programs anytime within a
specified timeframe without the usual programming
constraints.

A major player in the film
industry
StudioCanal, a wholly-owned subsidiary of
the Canal+ Group, is a major player in the financing, acquisition
and distribution of films in France, as well as other countries in
Europe.
With the acquisition of Optimum Releasing in the UK
in 2006 and Germany's Kinowelt at the start of 2008, StudioCanal has
also secured its place as the largest film distributor in
Europe.
Alongside Canal+, StudioCanal is a key partner of
French cinema, helping to finance two-thirds of all films produced
in France each year.
StudioCanal has a catalogue of over
5,000 French, British and American films, including Basic
Instinct, French-Fried Vacation, The Pianist and
Podium. It holds the rights for France, Europe and the rest
of the world. It is also involved in video production.
