No. 1 in mobile communications in Morocco

Maroc Telecom is the Moroccan leader in mobile telecommunications, with 13.3 million clients at year-end 2007 (a 24.5% increase over the year) and 66.5% market share*.

The operator has a very dynamic policy regarding its products and services. In 2007, it expanded its range of unlimited communications in both the prepaid and postpaid segments to develop the use of voice and data communication offerings. It also lowered access fees for prepaid plans and the initial fee for a line of packages, and continued to expand its range of handsets to equip all its customers with the latest technologies.

New services are now available: international multimedia messaging, address books, personalized ringtones, 3G mobile Internet, instant mobile messaging and Blackberry®.

Mobisud, Maroc Telecom’s mobile virtual network operator, was launched at the end of 2006 in France and expanded to Belgium in 2007. It offers prepaid plans with favorable rates for calls to all Moroccan fixed-line and mobile operators, as well as to Mobisud mobile phones.

No. 1 in fixed-line telephony in Morocco

Maroc Telecom offers individuals and corporate customers a wide range of fixed-line telecommunications services: voice communication, data transmission, Internet access and TV via ADSL. It is the leader on this market, which was recently opened to competition.

Offers for residential customers, marketed under the El Manzil brand, include communications plans, packages, and rechargeable capped plans. By the end of 2007, the number of Maroc Telecom fixed lines had increased 1.8% over the year to nearly 1.3 million.* This was mainly due to the success of the unlimited offerings marketed under the Phony brand.

Thanks to a comprehensive offering – voice, data transmission and Internet – and the introduction of new services, Maroc Telecom has witnessed steady growth in its professional and corporate subscriber portfolio.

Maroc Telecom, the Moroccan leader in Internet access, further consolidated its positions in 2007, in particular through regular price decreases in its ADSL offering and frequent promotions. Its TV via ADSL offering broadcasts nearly 80 channels.

No. 1 in ADSL

Maroc Telecom is particularly active in Internet access services: its Menara offerings have experienced strong growth, particularly for ADSL, thanks to price decreases and frequent promotions.

Maroc Telecom holds 90.4% of the Moroccan Internet access market* (all access types combined), with nearly 476,000 Internet subscribers at year-end 2007, approximately 99% of them ADSL subscribers.

In 2006, Maroc Telecom launched its ADSL TV service, a first-of-its-kind offering in Morocco, Africa and the Arab world. It now offers four different line-ups with nearly 80 Moroccan and international channels, including Canal+ Essentiel since September 2007.

National coverage

Maroc Telecom’s fixed-line and data transmission network has a switching capacity of nearly 1.9 million lines and provides national coverage, while its mobile telephony network covers more than 97% of the Moroccan population.
