Diablo III sets a new sales record for PC video games.
The latest title in Blizzard’s role-playing action game sold over 3.5 million copies in the first 24 hours, making it the fastest-selling PC video game of all time.* This number does not include the 1.2 million players who received Diablo III with their one-year subscription to World of Warcraft®. All told, over 4.7 million players worldwide snatched up a copy of Sanctuary on its launch day. “We are delighted by the excitement over this title, and to see so many people around the world eager to get their own copy and start playing the game as soon as it became available online,” says Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. The game is available for Windows® XP/Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 and Macintosh®, via DVD-ROM and in a digital version at battle.net, and has a PEGI 16+ rating. *Source: in-company information.
