  • Vivendi’s headquarters awarded EMAS certification

Vivendi’s environmental management system (EMS) at its Paris headquarters, has been certified under the EU EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) guidelines. The EMS has two major objectives:

    • Evaluate, improve and increase the transparency of Vivendi’s environmental performance to stakeholders, while increasing employees’ awareness of headquarters’ environmental efforts.
    • Support the group’s business units in their efforts to identify and manage environmental impacts.

An environmental impact review was completed during the first half of 2007 which identified the environmental impacts of the headquarters’ operations and corporate activities and assessed the efficacy of the existing environmental management system. The review included various policies and programs, opinion surveys, and interviews with employees whose jobs have potential environmental impacts. In 2008, a revised EMS was put in place, which includes both an environmental policy and an action plan for improving environmental performance. In 2009, Vivendi’s headquarters EMS received final certification from the Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development, and the Sea (see the environmental statement). Vivendi’s headquarters EMS has also received ISO 14001 certification
