Vivendi: partnership with the FEDERE 2011

The 10th annual European Forum for Sustainable Development and the Corporate Social Responsibility (FEDERE) (in French) took place in Paris on October 12, 2011. Bringing together hundreds of business leaders, representatives of professional organizations and international institutions, along with analysts and experts, the forum’s goal was to encourage discussion of three main topics:

  • non-financial reporting as a management tool for better corporate governance,
  • CSR (corporate social responsibility) as a driver of business performance,
  • and the evolution of business models as a result of sustainable development strategies.

Vivendi participated in a panel discussion on “Coordinating CSR strategy in the context of international competition: what is the best course of action in the face of regulatory demands and pressure from financial markets and citizens?”

Vivendi was invited to participate in Paris Europlace Workshops on « Sustainable development – CSR – SRI, A catalyst for value creation. Contribution to the B-20/G-20 Roadmap*», which took place on September 14.
The purpose of the event was to draw up new recommendations on companies’ commitments in CSR (corporate social responsibility) and SRI (socially responsible investment) that has been presented to the B-20/G-20 working groups on November 3 & 4 in Cannes.

Thanks to an ongoing dialogue with extra-financial rating agencies and SRI analysts, these indicators have been integrated to the group sustainability ratings.
Along with Vivendi’s Sustainable Development Vice President, Pascale Thumerelle, this workshop gathered Manuel Domeon, Deputy Director-Head of SRI investment analysis; Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management; Pierre Schereck, SRI Director, Amundi ; Gilles Vermost-Desroches, Sustainable Development Director, Schneider Electric ; Fouad Benseddik, Director of Methodology, Vigeo.
