Manuel Alduy, Head of the Canal+ Cinema division
(SDR 2007-2008)

« Supporting diversity in film means taking a chance on young talents (more than 40 French first films supported each year), but also encouraging filmmakers over the long term. Christophe Honoré, a director all of whose films Canal+ has prepurchased, made his fourth feature, Les Chansons d’amour (Love Songs), in 2007 after the public and critical success of his Dans Paris, released in 2006.
Diversity is also expressed in our different editorial identities: Canal+ offers a broad choice of films in exclusive release; Canal+Cinéma promotes the great classics as well as new genres; TPS Star has maintained its focus on popular works; and the CinéCinéma channels offer the full range of the cinema heritage. »
