In addition to the pay-TV channel CANAL+, the CANAL+ Group owns and directly operates three free channels: C8, CNEWS and CSTAR.
C8 is a leading general-interest channel that appeals to all generations and covers all themes – entertainment, information and magazines, series, cinema, lifestyle and sport – from a pleasurable and intelligent perspective. This channel’s flagship programs include: TOUCHE PAS À MON POSTE ! and WILLIAM À MIDI.
CNEWS, Group CANAL+’s news channel, covers the news in real time, while benefiting from the Group’s strengths (particularly in the sport and culture fields) with the support of a team of respected journalists including Laurence Ferrari, Jean-Pierre Elkabbach, Sonia Mabrouk and Pascal Praud.
Lastly, CSTAR is the first generational music channel in France where musical talents get together, express themselves and flourish.
These three channels, broadcast on DTV, are available all over the country and offer something for the entire French population. They are also included in the TV packages offered by satellite, ADSL and cable operators, etc. Their revenue comes entirely from advertising.
- ADVERTISING AGENCY
Canal+ Régie is the exclusive advertising agency of the CANAL+ Group, of which it is a wholly-owned subsidiary. It sells advertising for the channels CANAL+, C8, CNEWS, CSTAR and fifteen theme channels. It also markets their websites and smartphoneand tablet applications, mainly myCANAL, which now bundles together all the free and pay-TV channels and their Dailymotion and YouTube variants, as well as their catch-up TV services on television sets. It is also the exclusive advertising agency of the UGC movie theater network.
The CanalBrand Factory, set up in 2017, is an integrated structure specifically dedicated to brand content and brand publishing. In the year of its launch, the CanalBrand Factory had already directed and produced over 200 films for brands.
