Le Petit Olympia
Inaugurated in November 2018 a stone’s throw from the Olympia and even closer to its artists’ entrance, Le Petit Olympia restaurant has become the annex to the legendary Parisian concert venue. This has revived a tradition that was never really completely lost, back when artists, after their performance, would go there to enjoy one of the restaurant’s famous “tartars”, rubbing shoulders with their audience.
In addition to a “bistronomique” (bistrot-style gastronomic) menu created by Benoît Gauthier, chef of the Parisian restaurant Le Grand Pan, Le Petit Olympia has the ambition to revive the theatrical spirit of its older sister.
A direct access reserved for artists has been recreated between the Olympia’s magnificent Salle de Billard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the restaurant. In the 1960s, this passage allowed the restaurant to become the headquarters of stars who loved the king of the music hall.
Le Petit Olympia does not only welcome artists: it also intends to discover and make them known! With the aim of perpetuating tradition, open stages and showcases will soon be organized. Already music quizzes are held every last Thursday of the month, to give the ambiance of a café-theater to this restaurant with a rich decor adorned with Gustave Surand’s frescoes, themselves listed as a Historical Monument.
