The 57th Grammy Awards ceremony took place on the 8th February night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Sam Smith picking had a great night, picking up four awards: record of the year, song of the year and record of the year for his smash hit Stay With Me, and best pop vocal album for In The Lonely Hour.

The 22-year young British artist Sam Smith signed with Universal Music Group (UMG) in 2014 under the Capitol Records label. His song Stay With Me sold more than six million copies worldwide, with over 230 million views on YouTube.

U.S. singer Beck, another UMG artist under Capitol Records, won the best album of the year and best rock album awards with Morning Phase.

Other Universal Music artists such as Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Madonna also attended the prestigious ceremony.

The world’s most prestigious music accolade, the Grammy Awards are presented every year by the Recording Academy to honor artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry.
