After a highly successful partnership in 2012, Dailymotion has once again been chosen as the online video platform to broadcast this year’s Vendée Globe, the world’s toughest and most famous solo sailing race.

This Sunday, 29 skippers will set off from Les Sables d’Olonne on the west coast of France for the eighth Vendée Globe.

Four years since Francois Gabart’s race record of 78 days, the legendary non-stop, round-the-world sailing course is already generating considerable excitement.

For this year’s event, Dailymotion is using a multiplex  to showcase the live action: it will allow internet users to live-stream the Vendée Globe from 08:45 as the boats leave the channel, and to watch the official start of the race at 13:02.

Throughout the race, Dailymotion will offer daily and weekly programs broadcasting stunning footage of the sea, live interviews, video reports with commentary and analysis and several live-streams – ensuring that viewers don’t miss a moment of the adventure.

Dailymotion is pleased to be providing comprehensive coverage of the prestigious Vendée Globe race, an event which generated 30 million online views in 2012.
