On the occasion of the World Human Rights Day, celebrating the Universal Declaration adopted by the United Nations on 10 December 1948, read (again) the column by UNESCO’s Director-General Irina Bokova, published on Culture(s) with Vivendi under the De Facto section.

Culture is an integral part of human rights, as stated in Article 27 of the Universal Declaration. According to this article,”everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community.” That is why culture must be included in the new global agenda for sustainable development after 2015, as advocated by Irina Bokova in her column : “it is through culture that people mobilize and look ahead. There is no future without culture.”
