Universal Music
Curtis Stigers is back with a new album
The American jazz musician has released his 11th album, Hooray for Love (his eighth with Concord Records). This album offers up such gems from the Great American Songbook as the Gershwins’ “Love is Here to Stay,” Jerome Kern’s “The Way You Look Tonight” and “If I Were a Bell” from the musical Guys and Dolls. It also features three songs written or co-written by Curtis Stigers: “Hooray for Love,” the album’s title track, as well as “Give Your Heart to Me” and “A Matter of Time.” Recorded at Brooklyn Recording Studio, the album was produced by Stigers and John “Scrapper” Sneider. The result is a very harmonious album, which, while essentially pop, also has a jazz sensibility.
