Canal+
Canal+ launches Canalstart

Canalstart was created to support young entrepreneurs’ media and new-technology initiatives and projects. It was designed for start-ups oriented toward the media from any country, particularly those projects involving connected equipment and services. The goal is to help these young companies get on their feet and/or break through in their markets. Project instigators will be invited to submit an application via www.canalstart.com. All applications will be studied by an investment committee comprising key players from the audiovisual and new-technology sectors as well as seasoned entrepreneurs. The selection criteria include the project’s innovativeness, the team’s profile and vitality and the time frame for the creation and effective launch of the products and services in question. With Canalstart, Canal+ is entering a new stage in innovation and the development of the TV of tomorrow by encouraging and drawing upon the field’s talents of today.

SFR
567 cities covered

SFR has rounded out its 4G network by adding Agen, Annecy, Blois, Chambéry, Grenoble, La Rochelle, Metz, Nancy, Orléans and Reims to the list, bringing the number of cities covered to 567. SFR is continuing its ambitious roll-out plan and guarantees that 40% of the population, or 1,200 cities, will be covered by the end of 2013. This unprecedented nationwide roll-out is made possible by the use of 800-Mhz bandwidth, which guarantees greater reach with a smaller number of mobile sites and better coverage inside buildings.
