Canal+ Africa and Canal France International (CFI), two major actors and involved partners of the African movie industry, join together for “Africa by women” (“L’Afrique au feminin”). This contest of short documentaries, based on the theme “Succeeding today in Africa”, is dedicated to women African filmmakers.

This great initiative from Canal+ Africa meets its commitments to supporting the African movie industry, women and training, while promoting new talent. This contest, intended to promote both cinematographic diversity and knowledge sharing, is perfectly in line with Vivendi’s societal responsibility policy and with its strategic issues defined as early as 2003.

A dozen of projects will be selected by Canal+ Africa and CFI in April 2013. Nominees will then have the opportunity to be trained to writing and video editing by CFI. Canal+ Africa will provide its logistical support for the training sessions and purchase the broadcasting rights.

The best documentaries (from 8 to 12 mn) will form a collection which will be aired by Canal+ in Africa on March 8th 2014, for the World Woman’s Day.
