Chinese Puzzle

Now playing at French cinemas is the third installment of the adventures of Xavier Rousseau, played by Romain Duris. After Barcelona for the first film and then London and Saint Petersburg for its sequel, director Cédric Klapisch has set his new story in New York and Paris. Of course, Xavier looks a bit older than he did in 2001, but he has fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a writer. He has finally given up the single life as well by marrying Wendy (played by Kelly Reilly), and they have two beautiful children. As he approaches age 40, however, his wanderlust takes him to the middle of New York City’s Chinatown. Xavier navigates some complicated situations, but in doing so is also searching for his place as a son, a father and a man. Everything gets jumbled together: separation, step-families, gay parents, immigration, illegal work and globalization. Xavier’s life is a real Chinese puzzle! Produced by Bruno Levy, Chinese Puzzle is distributed by co-producer StudioCanal, which will also handle international sales.
