Culture(s) with Vivendi now has a new “De Facto” section, which puts culture at the heart of sustainable development through facts and figures, testimonials and studies. Culture stimulates creativity, drives economic growth, and strengthens social cohesion.  “De Facto” serves as a resources centre, and a platform for those who want to demonstrate the connections between culture, women’s and men’s wellbeing, innovation, mutual understanding between peoples and generations, peace, and the fight against poverty. The section aims to bring together the arguments for making culture one of the next Millennium Development Goals for 2015-2030. All this information will be passed on, shared, and commented on online, via a Twitter account at @CulturesWith and a Facebook page.

De Facto” is the latest addition to the Culture(s) with Vivendi website, launched on 21 May 2012 as part of Vivendi’s corporate social responsibility policy, which has recognized culture as a strategic issue relating to the group’s activity as soon as 2003. The website gives groundbreaking insight into culture and the role played by the cultural and creative industries. It shows the diversity of musical and cinematographic influences that help artistic creativity to flourish (“Artist Inspiration”); the value chain and the wealth of career paths in the cultural industries (“Creative Jobs”); culture as a tool for mutual understanding (“Intercultural Dialogue”); and the need to establish culture’s place within the new global sustainable development strategy (“De Facto”).
