Emilie Delorme has been Director of the Académie européenne de musique, the Academy of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence since 2008. In this capacity, she detects and supports young rising artists in the field of opera and classical music. In an interview just published on Culture(s) with Vivendi, she explains her career path and her responsibilities.
The Academy is an exceptional place devoted to musical training and sharing at the heart of Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, of which Vivendi is the official sponsor. The Academy attracts 250 young artists selected world-wide every year and offers them the opportunity to take part in residencies and perform at the Festival’s venues. Artists also learn how to reach new audiences by performing at the “Aix in June” festival, a prelude to the Festival d’Aix which offers a program of free and low-price events from May 31 to the end of June.
