The “1000 Visages” association originated from the premise that the cinematographic and audiovisual arts in France do not adequately reflect the country’s diversity. Traditional cultural circles ignore the wealth of expertise and talent represented by youth from ‘disadvantaged neighbourhoods’.

CINETALENTS is a comprehensive programme comprising several workshops structured around image education, theory and practice, up through actual production, supervised by a team of film professionals.

In addition to image education, the association strives to provide an introduction to film-related professions through direct meetings with professionals, by offering practical training in each key role on a film shoot (composition and framing, sound recording, direction, script supervision, decor, production and acting) through the collective production of a short film.

The association regularly presents the productions of these young people at film competitions and festivals. It also strives to assist them with their careers by providing advice and referrals, networking opportunities, internships and the like.

This approach has a number of diverse goals, including to promote cultural diversity and self-expression while contributing to intercultural dialogue through support for talented youth with a unique perspective on the world’s future; promote access to culture for young people with little opportunity to experience cultural offerings; and reveal creative potential and encourage initiative by youth in their arts projects.

Vivendi Create Joy supports the Cinetalents programme, a surprising mix of creativity, youth, cinema, personal development, equal opportunity, image education, critical thinking, citizenship, and vocational integration.

Come discover the latest productions of these talented young people and hear them talk about their experience; a retrospective will provide an overview of the association and the impact of its support for youth and their vocational integration. Don’t miss this exceptional evening at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, on 20 January 2015 starting at 6:30 pm.
