Hundreds of thousands of young people in the UK are not in work, education or training. The Prince’s Trust addresses this by giving practical and financial support to the young people who need it most.

The Trust runs a range of programmes. Each one helps young people to develop key skills, confidence and motivation, enabling them to move into work, education or training. The Get Started programmes are delivered around a specific  theme (for example fashion, football or film) by expert partners. Through practical activities, young people taking part in Get Started can build the skills, confidence and motivation to move forward with their lives.

 

Get Started with Film

A group of 18 teenagers took part in the intensive Get Started with Film course at the end of June, in East London. They developed the concepts, filmed and edited all of the films they created in just four days and had their videos premiered on the silver screen at Odeon Studios in Leicester Square on Friday June 26.

They have had the opportunity to:
> gain hands-on, practical experience in film and production
> develop their knowledge and understanding of film and digital media with an experienced industry expert
> meet new people and improve their communication and teamwork skills
> build and develop confidence and personal skills

The young people on this programme have the opportunity to receive up to three months’ progression support with The Prince’s Trust to help them to find further work or training

The Vivendi Create Joy Fund supports the three Get Started With Film Courses a year.
