The Group’s television channels and Dailymotion are mobilized as the 21st United Nations Conference on climate change (COP21) starts in Paris this November 30.

Before the opening of the Conference, the Group’s news channel iTélé explained the consequences of global warming for the planet. A series of reports from all over the world presented examples of initiatives already in place or in full development to reduce CO2 emissions.

iTélé will extensively report on the Conference and the progress in the negotiations – check for instance the exclusive interview given by Barack Obama, the President of the United States, to iTélé, while in Paris for the COP21. Different shows on Canal+ and D8 will also cover the event.

The discovery documentary channels part of Canal+ Group (PLANÈTE+) designed a special program slate called #LaPlanèteVousDitMerci (The Planet Says Thank You) with no less than 40 documentaries, of which 16 are original productions, broadcast during a whole week at the end of November. In addition, a series of short programs were produced in which well-known French personalities explain their commitment for the planet – testimonies accessible to everyone through a dedicated channel on Dailymotion.

During the Conference, Dailymotion will highlight the programs produced by its partners, in particular national and regional media as well as several pure players.

Vivoice, Vivendi’s CSR webradio, interviewed Christine Cauquelin, Head of Canal+ Group’s discovery documentary channels, questioning what the media responsibility should be in conveying sustainable development issues.

Vivendi is a partner of The Earth University which organizes a two-day event at Unesco’s headquarters in Paris, on December 4 and 5, during which citizens can find out and discuss about major issues related to society and the environment. Participants are invited to a thorough assessment and understanding of all climates: political, economic, social, educational and even individual.

Vivendi also partners with the French Fondation Hulot pour la Nature et l’Homme foundation whose mobilization campaign My Positive Impact was launched a few months ago at the Group’s headquarters. The Olympia will host a major closing ceremony early December during which several artists, humorists and singers – several of them called in by Universal Music Group – will celebrate all those acting to protect the climate.
