Every Saturday for a period of six months, 24 students selected for their motivation, do more than four hours’ work. On the program: tests of general culture, news and French, journalistic exercises related to the competitions, English lessons, mock exams and oral tests prepare the students for the admission examinations of the major schools of journalism. These courses are given by journalists practicing in the major media.

Last year, 14 of 24 students monitored by La Chance aux concours in 2012-2013 were accepted by a recognized school. In the last 7 years, we have helped students on grants to join schools of journalism, with considerable success: of 125 students monitored since 2007, 55% have joined a school and 80% became journalists.

By attracting students with grants, the association strives to achieve greater diversity in the media and reaches a particularly motivated audience.

In parallel with this educational mission, La Chance aux concours engages with people who are furthest removed from the professional and social world of journalism. It informs and guides all those who are looking to get into the profession.

In its eighth year, La Chance aux concours is recruiting 24 students, whom it will train for a period of eight months. This free preparation for the schools of journalism provided by volunteers and reserved for those in receipt of grants, will return at the begining of November 2014 and will comprise two groups of 12 students. Applications can be made until October 10, 2014.

Applications accepted from May 10 to October 10. For more info: www.la-chance-aux-concours.org

Vivendi Create Joy has supported this training since 2011 and is delighted with its growing success every year.
