The Dream, a project initiated by Vivendi Create Joy and involving two partnering associations, was awarded the “Coup de Coeur” prize from the Franco-British Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The prize was handed out to the French association Orchestre à l’Ecole and the British Music for Youth during a ceremony held in Paris on January 29.

The Dream is the story of an exciting exchange program between two youth orchestras, one from a French college located in Mayenne (northwest France) and the Rochdale Music Service Youth Orchestra located in the suburbs of Manchester. The French children spent four days in the families of their British counterparts in November, working and composing together an original piece called The Dream, which they then performed live on stage at the Royal Albert Hall in London, as part of Music for Youth’ School Proms gala evening.

It will now be the turn of the British kids to cross the Channel and spend one week in Mayenne, again with families, for music practice and to perform once again The Dream, this time at the famous Olympia hall in Paris, on February 12.

Excitement increases as the reunion of the two groups gets closer, this time on French ground, and the emotion will find its climax in front of the limelight a few days later!
