Universal Music Group
UMG and Glassnote enter agreement

Universal Music Group (UMG) and Glassnote Entertainment Group have signed an agreement under which UMG will become the exclusive worldwide distributor (excluding Australia, New Zealand and South Africa) of Glassnote’s recordings, effective March 1, 2014. This multi-year agreement will enable Glassnote’s extraordinary talent roster – which includes Childish Gambino, Chvrches, Mumford & Sons, Two Door Cinema Club and Phoenix – to leverage UMG’s resources and expertise. In the US, Glassnote will be distributed by UMG’s distribution unit (UMGD), and outside the US (excluding Australia, New Zealand and South Africa) Glassnote will be distributed by Caroline, UMG’s independent distribution arm. Glassnote will continue its pre-existing relationship with UMG in Canada. International releases for Mumford & Sons and Chvrches will continue to be handled by Island Records UK and Virgin EMI UK respectively, to which the artists are signed directly.

SFR
SFR considers acquisition of Telindus France

Vivendi has begun exclusive negotiations with Belgacom with a view to acquiring 100% of the stock of its subsidiary Telindus France, which is one of France’s telecom and network-integration market leaders, with growing revenues (€241 million in 2013). SFR and Telindus France have long worked together to build a solid partnership, which was illustrated in 2012 by the joint development of a unified cloud-communications offering. The acquisition would allow both companies to market services and offerings to businesses that would benefit from their complementary areas of expertise and extensive experience of working together. Once signed, the agreement will be subject to approval by the Competition Authority.
