Canal+ in France will broadcast all the matches from the Rugby World Cup starting this Friday.  From September 18 to October 31, the 48 games can be followed on Canal+ and Canal+ Sport, 27 of them exclusively.

This event promises to be one of the channel’s all-time sporting highlights. Rugby represents the second pillar of the Canal+ sporting offer, with the French Top14 championship broadcast in its entirety and exclusively by the channel. Whilst 80% of viewers mention football as a reason to subscribe, some 60%-70% also regard rugby as a major incentive to subscribe.

Three commentary teams comprising expert rugby analysts and former professional rugby players will follow the matches. They include Eric Bayle-Thomas Lombard, Bertrand Guillemin-Marc Lièvremont and Philippe Groussard-Cédric Heymans.

In addition, on each match day, Isabelle Ithurburu, Guilhem Garrigues and Sébastien Chabal will host a dedicated 45-minute highlights programme with debates, analysis and special reports from the games. A “dream team” of consultants with join them, including major rugby figures such as Fabien Pelous, Mourad Boudjellal, Gonzalo Quessada, Christophe Urios and Philippe Berbizier.
