Canal+
Vikings comes to Canal+

On June 10, Canal+ began airing Vikings, an Irish-Canadian series created by Michael Hirst. This new adventure show, comprising nine 42-minute episodes, takes the viewer back to the eighth century and the time of the Viking expansion to the west. Careful research went into Vikings, which borrows a Nordic legend to construct a masterful story set in medieval Scandinavia. A superb screenplay and a five-star cast (including Gabriel Byrne as the manipulative, authoritarian chieftain) are combined with sublime photography worthy of a top feature film. After the success of the first season in the US, filming of the second season will begin this summer and will be broadcast next year on Canal+.
