Vivendi is launching a Subscription Video-on-Demand (SVOD) service in Germany this January 9. Branded WATCHEVER, the service offers a wide choice of local, European and international movies, as well as TV series, for a monthly fee of €8.99. Accessible via the Internet on a variety of devices including connected TV sets, game consoles, PCs, tablets and smart phones, WATCHEVER perfectly fits with Vivendi’s strategy to make content available to audiences through various distribution methods.

Vivendi is very familiar with the German market thanks to the long-standing presence of StudioCanal and Universal Music Group. Germany is the largest media market in continental Europe and a promising one for Over-The-Top (OTT) services such as WATCHEVER given the high quality of networks, the strong presence of connected devices and the relatively low penetration of triple-play offerings.
