Olympia Production acquires leading French music festival Garorock

Olympia Production, a subsidiary of Vivendi, producer of concerts and live shows and the owner of regional music festivals in France, announced today that it had signed an agreement to acquire Garorock, one of the largest music festivals in France, located in Marmande, South-West France.

Olympia Production, the sister company to U-Live in the UK, aims at contributing to the existence and development of a diversified offer of high-quality festivals in France’s most beautiful regions, fully respecting their identity and local footprint.

Olympia Production owns Les Déferlantes and Live au Campo in Perpignan (Catalan country) and Brive Festival in Brive-la-Gaillarde (South West of France). The three festivals attracted record crowds in July 2018: their attendance rates grew by 17%, 15% and 30%, respectively.

Olympia Production also produces more than 35 artists (mainly music, and also comedy), either young promising talents or established artists, covering a wide variety of genres.

Created in 1997, Garorock has established itself as one of France’s largest festivals, held annually over four days at the end of June, attracting more than 145,000 people in 2018.

Details of the 2019 artist lineup will be released in December.
