Franck Appietto is appointed Managing Director of the D8 channel. He reports to Maxime Saada, CEO of CANAL + Group. Franck Appietto also retains his position as Director of unscripted Programming of CANAL+.
He takes over from Xavier Gandon, who has decided to leave the group to pursue a new project.
Franck Appietto joined CANAL+ Group in July 1999. He successively held the positions of Production Manager, Production Coordinator, and then Director of Productions and Magazines before becoming Director of Programming for the Planète channel in 2003. In April 2009, Franck Appietto was appointed Director of Entertainment Programming and was in charge of the COMEDIE !, JIMMY, and CUISINE.TV channels. In September 2012, Franck Appietto joined the free-to-air division as Director of unscripted and entertainment programming of D8 and D17. In February 2016, Franck Appietto was appointed Director of unscripted programming of CANAL+in addition to his current position as Director of unscripted and entertainment programming of the D8 channel.
