Canal+, ITI and TVN announced the closing of their strategic partnership on November 30. This transaction, announced last December, creates a leading direct-to-home platform with a combined base of 2.5 million post-paid customers as a result of the combination of the Cyfra+ and “n” platforms. The deal also results in Canal+ Group taking a 40% stake in the controlling company of TVN, Poland’s leading media company also actively involved in free-to-air-television.

With this transaction Vivendi successfully completes the three major strategic operations announced in 2011, after closing in September both the acquisition by Universal Music Group of EMI Recorded Music  and the acquisition by Canal+ Group of the rebranded free-to-air channels D8 and D17 from Bolloré Group in France.
