Given the seriousness of the Ebola epidemic, producer and musician Bob Geldof, who brought together in 1984 British pop stars under the “Band Aid”’ banner to perform the song “Do They Know It’s Christmas” against famine in Ethiopia, reiterated this initiative to fight the virus currently affecting Africa with a single released on November 17.

In France, Carla Bruni adapted the song. Titled Noël est là (“Christmas is there”), it was recorded on November 23. Renaud, Joey Starr, Vanessa Paradis, Benjamin Biolay, Zaz, Tete Yodelice, Thomas Dutronc, Carla Bruni, Nicolas Sirkis, Louis Bertignac, Yanick Noah, Christophe Willem, Louane, Yarol Poupaud, Rachid Taha, Jean-Louis Aubert, Mat Bastard, Guizmo, Bob Geldof, The Plasticines, Richard Kolinka and Amandine Bourgeois all took part in the recording. Photo and video agency Getty is also a partner of this initiative.

The French title is being released this December 1. Like for Do They Know It’s Christmas, all proceeds will be donated to the Band Aid Association.
