Fresh out of prison, a high-stakes thief moves to a small town in Pennsylvania in fictional Banshee County, where he assumes the identity of the murdered Lucas Hood, the incoming sheriff whose death he witnessed. An enigmatic character fleeing the demons of his tumultuous past, Lucas plans to bring law and order to this town in the middle of Amish country, but in his own style. The most recent series produced by HBO for Cinemax, Banshee offers up scenes worthy of the best westerns. Every Thursday at 8:55 pm on Canal+.

Karajan, 25 years on
Twenty-five years ago, on July 16, 1989, the world lost one of the 20th century’s most admired musicians, Herbert von Karajan. To mark this anniversary, Deutsche Grammophon is paying homage to the maestro with a series of commemorative boxed sets offering a selection of his major recordings, including an impressive large-scale boxed set dedicated to the archives of Richard Strauss, whom Karajan always admired for his talents as a symphony and opera conductor. In bringing us a number of special anniversary editions, the label celebrates 50 years’ collaboration with the orchestra conductor and pays homage to this ahead-of-his-time musician with a series of new items and a fun contest.
