Faithful partner of the Cannes Film Festival for 21 years , Canal + will dedicate a large part of its programs to this event of international renown and also deploy this year a vast and unique web- and digital-based offer.

Kick-off will be on Wednesday, May 14, with the live broadcast, unencrypted and exclusively on the French channel, of the opening ceremony , produced by Canal +, hosted by filmmaker Jane Campion, President of the jury .

Every evening , the team of the “Grand Journal” talk show, alongside Antoine de Caunes, will receive the stars and artists that excite the Croisette, while the well-known puppet show “Les Guignols” will also appear live on the set. Laurent Weil, meanwhile, will report about the many stars walking up the famous red carpet, and will also present his magazine “Rencontres du cinéma”.

Canal+ will also broadcast films that have marked the Festival in 2013 as “The Past”, “The Great Gatsby”, “The Bling Ring” and “Only God Forgives”.

Finally , Canal+ will also produce the closing ceremony, broadcast live Saturday, May 24 , in clear and exclusively.

For its part, CulturesWithVivendi designed an infographics showing how much cultural diversity is a reality at the Festival, starting with the number of countries represented (28!) among the films selected this year!
