A director of photography on feature-length films for some thirty years, Caroline Champetier is one of the few women to practise this profession in France. In an interview just published on Culture(s) with Vivendi, she revisits her amazing career.

A graduate from IDHEC (a French Institute for Advanced Cinematographic Studies), she began her career as an assistant with a great director of photography, William Lubtchansky. She has worked with the finest French directors: Jean-Luc Godard, André Téchiné or Leos Carax, to name but a few. In 2009, she wins the César Award for Best Cinematography for Des hommes et des dieux directed by Xavier Beauvois.
