GVTs program for responsible use of the internet was awarded the “content with social interest” prize by the respected Brazilian magazine ARede.

Educando GVT is a project designed for children, young adults, parents and teachers to ensure the reduction of risks in an online environment. Marketing and Corporate Communications Director of GVT, Ricardo Monteiro, said “The ARede magazine award is recognition of our efforts and a stimulus to further extend our work in this area”. The project launched in 2008 in collaboration with various NGOs and educators, is accessible in paper form and through a website, a blog and also via an app. The app has recently undergone modifications to encourage interactivity with users and ask them questions about the practice of protecting themselves online. In a culture where the internet and online interaction is practically inescapable, this project encourages the use of modern technology and even provides some community centers with the equipment necessary to benefit from the internet while simultaneously giving them the manual to use it carefully and safely.

This project perfectly fits with Vivendi’s corporate social responsibility policy, which has defined the protection and empowerment of youth in their use of media and technologies as a strategic issue since 2003.
