Having been the subject of countless books and TV episodes, Paddington Bear is coming to the big screen for the very first time in a magical adventure film produced  by Heyday Films (David Heyman, producer of the Harry Potter series and Gravity) and Studiocanal. The movie starts its international career in cinemas today in the United Kingdom.

Ben Whishaw is the English voice of Paddington. The film is written and directed by Paul King (The Mighty Boosh).

Michael Bond’s character Paddington follows the comic misadventures of a young bear from Peru with a passion for all things British, who travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck (‘Please look after this bear. Thank you.’) and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist, played by Nicole Kidman …
