Today May 21, on the occasion of the United Nations’ World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, Vivendi welcomes a group of young professionals from Mali in Paris. They are the students attending the training program for sound engineers launched by Vivendi in 2006. So far the training has been provided in Salif Keita’s studio in Bamako. For the first time, the 9th training session is taking place in some recording studios and concert halls in Paris for a period of three weeks. On May 21, from noon to 1 p.m., the students will be live on air on Le Mouv’ French radio station with Philippe Dana and Laurent Kramer presenting the radio cast 12/13.

During the 8th training session the students recorded and mixed the album Made in Bamako produced by Vivendi in January 2013. The support provided to these young artists and professionals is in line with the Vivendi’s corporate social responsibility policy that holds the promotion of cultural diversity to be a pillar of sustainable development.

For this reason, Vivendi renews its support to the Do ONE Thing campaign by putting the training program in the spotlight. Promoted by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations in partnership with Unesco, the Do ONE Thing campaign calls on all relevant stakeholders to take one action in order to promote cultural diversity.  Along with Vivendi, more than one hundred public and private organizations are carrying on concrete initiatives to celebrate the World Day for Cultural Diversity

Vivendi had already joined this UN campaign in 2012 by sharing the launch of the website “Culture(s) with Vivendi” on May 21. Today “Culture(s) with Vivendi” celebrates its first anniversary
